September Update Space Janitor

Logbook:

September was a bit overwhelming. I made the website. I set up the YouTube Channel. I registered for SteamWorks. I applied for the Paris Game Biz. And I also worked on the game of course. 

I found it difficult to nail down the core game-idea. Seemingly small changes tend to upset the whole concept and I spend hours walking around trying to put it all back together. 

So I decided to focus on the first game-loop: Cleaning the stations. And I defined our first milestone:

We want to have one station that we can clean/repair completely and change it from the worst condition to the best condition. No electricity. No heating. No working airlocks. No water. Lots of garbage. Lots of worms. And so on. 

If we have that and it is satisfying to play we can move on.

23.9.2025

Revisited the interaction design and made some changes. Introduced the DRAG-mechanic. You can now drag objects but also NPCs. Fun! Oli and I like the idea of dragging annoying NPCs out the airlock. And then they freeze and slowly drift away into space. Har Har. 

Now we have to rebuild the interaction-logic.

Made animations for different tile states.

  8. Made new Charakter „VR Boi“
  9. Added Sounds 
  10. Created new Garden Sprite and Garden State Anims
  11. Changed the Name to Janitor Joseph
